first day of school

ready to walk out the door! Cole is headed to Children's Learning Academy (CLA) this fall. It's just another Mother's Day Out program. He goes on Tues/Thurs from 9-3. We might have the option of sending him to German school once we get moved in. We got to school and he gave me his normal high-five and I left! no crying!! hoooray. Also, in the class he's in, they require them to wear pull ups! We are almost there in the potty training anyway, so this will be a great reinforcement!! Here's to only having to change one kid in diapers!! :)

all ready!

going to school to "wern" and make friends

Cole still working on his baseball skills! he wanted to make a video for Cooper! (his red "wove" is from Cooper)

pumpkin time...

Kendra and Jason were kind enough to show us around and let us tag along with them this weekend. We started off in Ktown at a pumpkin festival called Kurbisfest. After lunch Cole stripped down to his diaper and headed for the water...there were a lot of lil kiddos running around naked...they all were having a great time. This place is very kid friendly with lots of things to do/play on.

pumpkin soup (kurbissuppe) and wine (kurbiswine) both were amazing!
and some beer, ofcourse
the theme this year was fairy tales...cole in front of the pied piper

not sure which fairy tale this guy is from

we had a good time...although it was pretty warm and didn't seem much like fall time yet...I think the colder weather is coming this week...:(

petting in potzberg

well, we were supposed to be signing our "contract" today on our house, but the inside stairs didn't come in like expected and they won't let us sign a contract on an unfinished house...so we wait:) we decided to hit up some castle remains and a petting zoo. Originally, we were going to park in Oberstaufenbach and walk up to Potzberg. While we were house hunting one resident told us it was a 45 min bike ride up there....not sure if he was riding a motorcycle or not because I'm POSITIVE we could not have walked it...and we would have given up before we got to the top. It was a long curving road with no bike/walking paths along side of it. So happy we checked and ended up driving up there. The petting zoo itself was a good walk! We got a season pass so we can go back anytime! It was very peaceful and Cole had a great time...and Ryan too!:)

We probably won't take Morgan next time. She had to wait in the car and then got to come in and eat with us:)
the buffalo getting the last of our treats!
feeding some deer. so beautiful...that view!

Reindeer

this deer was awesome...got up had some treats...then moooed at us (cole freaked out) as we walked away...so we gave him some more treats!...Gabe cracks me up in this pic..

the initial feeding

lots of peacocks, chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs..

apparently they are all "doing it" alot (this sign says SEX SHOP)

these goats were funny, knocking each other with their horns to get more treats and jumpin on the horses back! Goats are cool...what was the saying Court? if you want kids, get a goat first?

view from the bird houses

we had a great day! the boys kinda napped a little...then both fell asleep around 5:30 and slept til the next morning! (small awakening by both at 4:30, but then back to sleep til 8:30am) awesome!

Heidelberg

Trying to take advantage of Ryan still having a few days off. We day tripped to Heidelberg (only 45 min away on the autoban-that was full of construction and sqeezing through cars/barriers) Lots to do here and SHOPPING! We walked through the "walk-platz" had some lunch...up to the castle then back down for few more beers and some gelato. It was a great day! Both boys crashed in the car on the way home..I was pumped they were sleeping..but a lil sad b/c we didn't get to stop at IKEA! NEXT TIME!

we walked up the VERY VERY GIANT STEEP hill to see the inside. It was worth the walk and the exercise! (I had Gabe in the front pouch and pulled the stroller, while Ry carried Cole on his shoulders:)
